This past weekend marked the start of the Copa de Andalucía Femenina 2025, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the season! The Trofeo Antonio Gómez del Moral – XII Subida al Santuario Virgen de la Sierra was my first race of the year, and it turned out to be a fantastic performance on all fronts.
A Chaotic Start to the Season
Ah, the first race of the season—when everyone is fresh, over-enthusiastic, and apparently convinced they can win the whole thing in the first three kilometers. The start was, let’s say, “eventful.” A mix of nerves, eagerness, and riders forgetting how physics works led to multiple crashes right from the gun. It was like watching a game of dominoes, except with expensive carbon frames and a lot more shouting.
Dodging the chaos, I focused on keeping things upright and getting into a rhythm. Once the mayhem settled, it was time to race properly.

I raced this event last year and finished 4th in the Elite Fem category, completing the challenging climb in 1:04:50.023. At the time, it was a tough but rewarding effort, and I knew there was room to improve. This year, however, I returned with a new mindset, stronger legs, and an upgraded machine—and the results speak for themselves!
A Year-on-Year Improvement
Crossing the finish line in 52:57.218, I not only took the Elite Fem victory but also made a massive improvement in my time, shaving nearly 12 minutes off last year’s result! Turns out, a bit of winter suffering on the turbo trainer and a lot of carbs do wonders for climbing speed.
The Race and My New Bike
This was also my first competitive ride on my new Liv Langma, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. The bike felt light and responsive on the climbs, giving me the confidence to push harder on every turn of the pedals.
The course itself is a true climber’s challenge—relentless gradients, beautiful scenery, and an atmosphere that fuels every rider’s determination to reach the summit. Knowing that this was the first round of the Copa de Andalucía added extra motivation to start the season on a high note.
Looking Ahead
Winning this race sets a great tone for the rest of the season, but I know there’s still plenty of work to do. I’m excited to continue competing across Andalucía and beyond, aiming for more strong results and enjoying the process along the way.
A huge thank you to everyone who supports me—my coach, my sponsors, and all the amazing people who cheer me on. Here’s to an exciting 2025 race season!
